Postmortem

What went right:

In terms of what was correct, we found it easy to work with the constraint of having to use a single button. It was rather simple to think of a mechanic we could use and make our one button game interesting to play. The second thing that was done well was the music and sound effects, all of them sounded appropriate for the game and fit the theme of the game.

What went wrong:

There were issues with the movement of the player, at first it was simply changed to a static object to stop it’s movement but that is bad practice. Instead we changed it so that it slows down over a short period of time, damping it to a stop.

What we learned:

Throughout this process, we learned about how to create a game with the constraint of one button. We explored what could be done and based the mechanic on the hold and release of a button. We also learned how to create organized code for other people to see.

Next Steps:

For next steps we would like to add more levels, likely increasing in difficulty. We could also add more enemies as the level increases and as time goes on, we could add more points. I think it would also be cool to add a leaderboard to this game.
